The Spanish surrealist artist renowned for his technical skill, precise draftsmanship, and the striking and bizarre images in his work. Major themes in Dali's work include dreams, the subconscious, sexuality, religion, science and his closest personal relationships. Scrutinizing the composition, we find the bottom to suggest beach instead of sea, Dalí rigs the massive sails onto the back and body of a hermaphroditic creature, suggesting some mythological figure. From its bound position, the creature appears cursed, as if having crossed the gods, and perhaps is made to carry the heavy rigging on its back for eternity.
